Description

Retrieve location and general information about groundwater, surface water, and meteorological monitoring sites. Returns site numbers, names, coordinates, altitude, and other station details.

Parameters (17)

agencyCd (string, query, optional)

Agency code (e.g., USGS, USCE)

altMax (number, query, optional)

Maximum altitude in feet

altMin (number, query, optional)

Minimum altitude in feet

bBox (string, query, optional)

Bounding box as 'west,south,east,north'. Product of latitude/longitude range cannot exceed 25 degrees.

countyCd (string, query, optional)

Five-digit FIPS county codes. Max 20 values.

endDt (string, query, optional)

End date (ISO-8601). For filtering by period of record.

format (string, query, optional, default: rdb)

Output format

Constraints: {'enum': ['rdb', 'gm', 'ge', 'mapper']}

huc (string, query, optional)

Hydrologic unit codes. One major (2-digit) or up to ten minor (8-digit) codes.

parameterCd (string, query, optional)

Five-digit USGS parameter codes. Max 100.

seriesCatalogOutput (boolean, query, optional, default: False)

Include period of record details

siteName (string, query, optional)

Site name string to search for

siteOutput (string, query, optional, default: basic)

Level of detail for site information

Constraints: {'enum': ['basic', 'expanded']}

siteStatus (string, query, optional, default: all)

Filter by site status

Constraints: {'enum': ['all', 'active', 'inactive']}

siteType (string, query, optional)

Site type codes (e.g., ST for streams)

sites (string, query, optional)

Comma-separated site numbers (unlimited). Mutually exclusive with other major filters.

startDt (string, query, optional)

Start date (ISO-8601). For filtering by period of record.

stateCd (string, query, optional)

Two-digit USPS state code (e.g., NY, CA, TX). Max 1 value.
